Backgammon is one of the world’s oldest games, shaped by centuries of play across cultures and social settings. Yet despite this rich history, contemporary clubs often draw from a familiar visual language that emphasizes stylish venues and colorful boards over people.

For NYC Backgammon Club, the opportunity was to look beyond the board and highlight the social experience that has always surrounded it.

Archival imagery and contemporary photography work in dialogue, showing how the ritual of gathering around the board has endured across generations. A playful verbal identity balances competition with community and never takes itself too seriously. The result is a space where backgammon may bring people to the table, but the people are what make them stay.
